Joe Jonas Briefly Addresses Sophie Turner Divorce During Performance at Dodgers Stadium in LA

As many of you know, the Jonas Brothers are currently on the North American leg of their worldwide tour – which began on August 12, will go international on February 27, and will conclude on June 20, 2024. While the tour has been a huge success so far, one of the brothers – Joe Jonas – has been distracted.

That’s because Joe Jonas is divorcing his wife, Sophie Turner. Rumors of a possible divorce began on Sept. 3 when Joe reached out to several divorce lawyers in the LA area. On Sept. 5, Joe made it official when he filed for divorce in Florida’s Miami-Dade County Court. A statement was released on Sept. 6.

“After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” Joe and Sophie wrote in the statement. “There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."

On Saturday (September 9), Joe Jonas and his two brothers, Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas, performed in front of a packed Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles. During that performance, Joe addressed his ongoing divorce for the first time and had a simple message for fans who have been following the headlines.

“It’s been a tough week. I just wanna say, look, if you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it. Okay? Thank you everyone for your love and support. Me and my family love you guys,” he said into the mic with thousands of fans in attendance. He didn’t elaborate any further, but his message was fairly crystal clear.

The statement comes just a few days after Joe Jonas received backlash for the alleged reasons why he filed for divorce. While Sophie was being painted as a ‘partier’ who wanted to go out often, he apparently wanted to settle down and live a more at-home lifestyle. Many fans described it as a ‘smear campaign.’

There were also reports of a Ring doorbell video/audio recording of Sophie Turner that was seen/heard by Joe Jonas. It’s unclear what the nature of that recording was, but it was enough to make Joe lose any motivation to continue their marriage. Still, there’s so much unknown regarding what the reasons were.

Joe Jonas and His Brothers Have a Lot of Touring Left

Joe Jonas and his brothers have already performed three times since the divorce was announced – they performed at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona on September 6, MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sept. 8, and most recently at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, California on Sept. 9.

Their next performance is on Monday (September 11) at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California – which will mark the 17th performance since the tour began. After that, they’ll still have 49 shows left on the North American leg of the tour, which will conclude on December 9 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The Jonas Brothers will take a 10-week break before beginning the international leg of the tour – which begins on February 9 with a performance at Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand.
