Kourtney Kardashian Responds to Criticism Over Getting Pregnant at 44 and Explains Why She Isn’t Sharing Details Behind ‘Terrifying’ Hospitalization Last Month

Kourtney Kardashian recently sat down for an interview with Vanity Fair Italia and talked about her pregnancy, her relationship with Travis Barker, the confidence she has in her body, and why she decided against in vitro fertilization in lieu of a more natural approach – her interviews never seem to disappoint.

“Physically I feel great. I like being pregnant. I’m obsessed with the idea of being pregnant,” she told the magazine – adding that this pregnancy is much different than her first three. Not only does she have a different group of doctors, but they have given her more restrictions than in the past, which scared her at first.

For example, she says she wasn’t allowed to work out, do Pilates, take caffeine, go on a plane, or have sex. “I think all this caution made me a little afraid because in the past I had never had to be careful. It took me a while to let go of the fear,” she said – adding that she feels ‘really lucky and grateful’ right now.

Kourtney Kardashian also took a moment to address the negative comments she has received online about her having a baby at 44 years old. Many people believe she is too old to be pregnant and they haven’t been shy to speak their minds online, but she isn’t allowing any outside noise to get in her way.

“Those comments don't affect me. To those who do them I just say: how dare you question God's plan? Because that's how I see this pregnancy, which in fact arrived when both Travis and I didn't even think about it anymore and a year after we stopped trying with assisted fertilization,” she said of the negativity.

She goes on to explain that she felt pressured into the IVF process because others made it seem like the only option. She felt like she was ‘doing something that wasn’t right for me’ and told her husband: ‘If we’re meant to have a baby, then it’s just going to happen.’ They conceived naturally once they stopped IVF.

As far as what she loves most about being a mother, she says she enjoys ‘experiencing life through their eyes and doing with them all the things I did as a child.’ She loves creating traditions and memories and ‘making everyday things feel special and magical’ – and says having Travis makes everything better.

Kourtney Kardashian Isn’t Ready to Discuss Recent Hospitalization

In her recent interview with Vanity Fair Italia, Kourtney Kardashian briefly mentioned her hospitalization scare last month, but didn’t want to go too far into detail until she and her husband feel ready. Kourtney, who announced her pregnancy in mid-June, was rushed into urgent fetal surgery just one month ago.

“It was terrifying. And I feel that sooner or later I will go into details because I hope that you can help others, but today I don't feel ready yet because it was really scary,” she told the magazine. She also revealed that she and Travis ‘haven’t yet talked about whether and how much to expose the baby.’

She did, however, give an update on her three current children – Mason, 13, Penelope, 11, and Reign, 8 – who she shares with Scott Disick. She says they’re ‘very’ happy and are excited to meet their baby brother. “Now when they go to school in the morning, they touch my belly, kiss it, say hello,” she adds.
