NBA Star Anthony Edwards Responds After Text Messages Reveal He Forced His Girlfriend to End Her Pregnancy

Anthony Edwards’ girlfriend is sharing text messages between the two of them that doesn’t paint Edwards in a great light.

And now the NBA Star is speaking out in a statement.

A few days earlier, Edwards’ girlfriend, Paige Jordae took to Instagram to share screenshots of the conversation they had via text after she revealed to him that she was pregnant with his child.

After sharing a picture of the positive pregnancy test, Edwards responded, saying, “Hell Naw. I can’t do dis.” To which Jordae responded saying, “So now what? What a great response.”

That’s when Edwards encouraged her before later demanding that Jordae get an abortion. “…I don’t want kids,” Edwards told Jordae after she told him she had an abortion before and “regret it every day.”

Despite seemingly not wanting the abortion, the messages confirmed that she did terminate their pregnancy, and as a result, TMZ reports that Edwards wired Jordae $100,000 as a thank you.

It’s unclear why Jordae decided to share the messages publicly now, but Edwards is responding to the backlash from his behavior.

“I made comments in the heat of a moment that are not me, and that are not aligned with what I believe and who I want to be as a man,” Edwards began the statement he shared on Twitter.

“All women should be supported and empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them. I am handling my personal matters privately and will not be commenting on them any further at this time.”
