NSYNC Releasing First Song in 21 Years as Part of the ‘Trolls Band Together’ Soundtrack

NSYNC is about to break the internet in a couple of weeks when they release their first song in more than two decades – that’s right, the band is back together and millions of ‘stans’ are losing their minds as a result. The song is called ‘Better Place’ and will appear in the upcoming Trolls Band Together movie.

Fans knew something was up when the five band members – Chris Kirkpatrick, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass – posted a cryptic video on NSYNC’s official Instagram page on Wednesday (September 13). In the video, they were lipsyncing a scene from the popular sitcom Friends.

They all had a secret to tell, but no one was spilling the tea. They went back and forth with one another about ‘knowing something,’ but were adamant about not saying anything until the others said something. A few hours later, the tea was spilled and fans finally got their first taste of what the song sounds like.

A snippet of the song was featured in the official trailer (No. 2) for Trolls Band Together – it can be heard in the final 10 seconds of the trailer. The trailer was posted on YouTube late Wednesday night – around the same time NSYNC released a trailer for the song that gave us 40 seconds of audio to sing along to.

For those who don’t understand the significance of this, NSYNC is one of the most popular boy bands of all time and helped define the music industry in the 1990s and 2000s. Their last single was released in 2002, Justin Timberlake left the band in 2004, and everyone else went their separate ways in 2007.

That’s about to change on September 29 when they officially release their newest song (and first song in 21 years) ‘Better Place’ for the world to hear. It’ll also be featured in the Trolls Band Together film, which is set to be released on November 17. The movie features an all-star cast that includes Justin Timberlake.

Others who were given voice roles in the animated film include Anna Kendrick, Camila Cabello, Eric André, Troye Sivan, Kid Cudi, Daveed Diggs, RuPaul, Amy Schumer, Andrew Rannells, and Zosia Mamet. If that’s not enough to get you excited for an entertaining end to 2023, then you’re out of luck!

NSYNC Reunites on Stage at the Video Music Awards (VMAs)

For those who live under a rock, the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) took place on Tuesday (Sept. 12) and it was everything we were hoping it would be. Nicki Minaj was the host, Taylor Swift took home nine wins (including Artist of the Year), and we got to see some of the greatest performers take center stage.

While they didn’t perform, NSYNC was one of the many stars to take center stage when Nicki Minaj introduced them to their hit song ‘Bye Bye Bye’ – a song they won three VMAs for in 2000 (Best Pop Video, Best Choreography in a Video, and Viewers Choice). As you can imagine, the crowd went nuts.

They were there to present the award for Best Pop Video – an award they were nominated for four times and won twice (‘Bye Bye Bye’ and ‘Pop’). And who did the 2023 award go to? None other than Taylor Swift, who was fangirling at being on stage with NSYNC – don’t lie, you would’ve done the same thing.

It’s good to see NSYNC back together and we’re excited for their upcoming song to be released in a few weeks, but don’t get too excited – they haven’t announced any plans for an official return to the studio and aren’t planning on recording an album together (or going on tour). With that said, we can only hope!
