Chrissy Teigen Shares Heartbreaking Statement Revealing They Had Lost Their Unborn Baby Boy

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have revealed that their third child has passed away. The announcement comes days after Teigen was admitted into the hospital for excessive bleeding.

Along with several photos from the moment they learned their unborn baby boy had passed, Teigen revealed that they “are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before.”

"We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough," Teigen explained in her statement. The mom went on to share that she and John already had a name picked out for their baby boy.

"We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly, Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever."

Teigen then sent a message directly to her late son:

"To our Jack - I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you."

After thanking everyone for their lots and prayers, Teigen reiterated how thankful she is for the life they have and the children who are with them earthside. "We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience," she wrote. "But every day can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it."

Thousands of people have since reached out to offer their condolences to Teigen and Legend. "I am so astonished and in complete awe of your bravery," one commenter wrote. "You just made so many women feel seen by sharing this intimate grief. I hope the outpouring of love you receive helps you and your family heal. Thank you for being so strong and so open. Sending you and your family so much love and light in this extraordinarily difficult time. May you always feel Jack’s love surrounding you."

This tragic update comes 24 hours after the cookbook author revealed she had endured a scary Tuesday morning. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Teigen and Legend were expecting their third child together.

Unlike with her first two children, Luna and Miles, this time Teigen had revealed that she and Legend conceived their third child naturally. As Legend called it in the past, learning they were expecting was their "little quarantine surprise."

However, at roughly 20 weeks pregnant, Teigen began experiencing heavy bleeding. And even though she was feeling good and her unborn baby boy was still growing stronger by the day, the mom was put on bed rest for several days before the bleeding got worse and she was admitted into the hospital.

In one of her updates, the expectant mother shared that like her first two pregnancies, her placenta had been described as weak. While in the hospital, Teigen revealed that she had undergone two blood transfusions, something she said sounded scarier than it actually was.

But it was only hours after that update that she took to Twitter to reveal she had just lived through a very scary morning. On September 29, Teigen wrote, "Just had a really scary morning huge clot, almost save-worthy. The scramble to hear the heartbeat seemed like hours. I never thought I’d relief sigh so much in my liiiiife."

Tragically, since sharing that very alarming tweet with her fans, Teigen went radio silent before revealing their baby boy had passed away. As a result, people had been sending good thoughts and prayers Teigen's way.

"I bled a ton with both my pregnancies. It never got less scary but I took solace in hearing how common it was and how other women had healthy babies after bleeding," one commenter wrote. "So here are my 'babies' that caused massive panic for me. They were ok. I pray yours will too."
